Cuisine de Comptoir, just off the Place du Forum in Arles, is owned and run by two partners – Vincent Barjolin and Alexandre Perrucca, both Arlésians by birth.

A modern, but cosy café come bistrot much favoured by the locals, it offers a selection of home made food.

• Grilled Foie Gras with Onion Confit
• Magret de Canard with Cantal
• Brandade
• Grilled Chicken Breast
• Moelleux de Chocolat
• Baba au Rhum

Tartines made with Poîlane, bread delivered daily, served with soup or salad cost from around €10.50 including a glass of wine or half a litre of mineral water and a coffee.
