Description:
Set in 30 hectares in the Centre Var, this adventure park has been created to combine adventure with discovering nature, especially the the mediterranean forest area, with 100 year old cedar trees that were introduced from the Moroccan Atlas mountains, pine, oak, juniper tress and cistus. The park is based around the environment and biodiversity.
The Adventure Park, one of the largest in the region, has 130 stages with 9 circuits of varying difficulty, ranging from 1–15 metres above the ground, for all ages from 4 years old (>1.5m tall) up to 70+
Most of the stages include harnesses, but for the more adventurous there are circuits without harnesses.
This is a map the courses, which all include an initiation by fully-trained staff, recognised by the Department of Youth & Sports, who are always close by.
There is an Animal Park, with animals in semi-liberty. These include wild boar, fallow and red deer, special donkey & goat breeds – Baudet du Poitou and Ane de Provence and Chèvres du Rove, the latter used for producing goats’ milk cheese and accompanying the sheep herds during the transhumance.
Petting Farm with farmyard animals – chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, turkeys, dwarf goats, sheep, guineafowl, peacocks & pheasants.
Educational Paths – walk around a trail seeing plants that grow in calcareous soil (lime); scented plants of the Provençal garrigue; plants used for dyes; birds of the region.
Orientation Course – with 24 points of interest to give an ethnobotanical overview of the mediterranean forest.
Butterfly Garden – 7 000 m2 have been planted to encourage native fauna, in particular butterflies of which there are near to 130 species that have been spotted. Guided tours available from April – September.
Celtic Calendar – 22 trees have been planted according to the Celtic belief that trees protected people.
Aoubré organises educational programmes for schools and caters for groups of conference & incentive participants as well as hen & stag parties.
Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn : trainers or walking boots, trousers or long shorts and t-shirts covering the stomach.
For reasons of hygiene and security, no animals are admitted to the park.
Sunday afternoons are the most popular times and so Aoubré advises you to choose another day to prevent long waits. The management reserves the right to close the park at short notice due to bad weather conditions.
